 Donna Norris Seely

Publication Donna Norris Seely Grammy “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning” Psalm 30:5 Donna passed away Friday, May 28, 2004 at her home in Magna, Utah. She came into this life with another spirit, her twin sister, Diane, they were the first set of twins born in the new hospital in Payson, Utah. Donna was born August 17, 1946. Her parents were, Garth A. Shepherd and Meredith Sperry of Salt Lake City, Utah. Donna died from complications from multiple myeloma cancer; it was a courageous battle, but the cancer won the war. She returned to her Father in Heaven, and was greeted by family and friends that have already gone before her. She was married twice and then found what Donna says was her knight in shining armor, Ken. Ken and Donna had a short, but wonderful life together. They were married May 20, 1995, and later solemnized the marriage in the Jordan River Temple, May 20, 1999. Donna was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and had many callings in the Church.

One of the many callings that she liked was being in the Primary, she loved working with young children. She loved her children and grandchildren very much. She enjoyed reading to her grandchildren every chance she got. One of the things that she enjoyed very much was going to the movies just about every Saturday, that is where you could find her and her husband. She loved to read books, and sometimes she would be reading four or five books at one time. Donna was very kind, loving, caring, understanding and a real peacemaker. She loved the gospel of Jesus Christ, and she was very faithful to it’s teaching. She loved her work as a medical assistant, working in the medical field; Donna was able to help people. She took pride that she was able to make a difference in some of the people that she worked with. She had a real hard time when she had to stop working, because her body could not fight off germs. Donna is survived by her loving husband, Ken Seely of Magna; children, Roger Scott Howell of Salt Lake, Jon (Lori) Norris of Sandy, Kristy Norris of Magna; two stepchildren, Roy (Elizabeth) Seely of Magna and Kimberly Seely Jackman of Magna; brother, Larry (Kim) Barnett of Salt Lake and four grandchildren who she loved with all of her heart, Kodey, Tasia, Sadie and Terry. She is preceded in death by her father, Garth and mother, Meredith and her twin sister, Diane. We will all miss Donna very much, but we know that she is doing something that she has always wanted to do; she has always wanted to go on a mission. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Community Nursing Service, Frank, Karen, Carol and Tina. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pleasant Green 4th Ward, 3610 South 8400 West. The family will receive friends at a viewing Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the Ward. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park. Funeral Directors: Valley View Funeral Home.
