Donald Dean Seely, 78, of Decatur, IL passed away Sunday, April 3, 2011 at 6:20 p.m. in St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday April 7, 2011 in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Cowden. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Myers Cemetery at Herrick, IL. Memorials can be made to Wounded Warriors, St. Jude Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO or Donors Choice.

Donald Dean Seely, 78 of Decatur, IL passed away Sunday, April 3, 2011 at 6:20 PM in St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.

Dean was born April 29, 1932 in Lakewood, IL the son of Harold “Short” and Ora E. Williams Seely.

He married Mildred Redman Aug. 3, 1949 in Shelbyville, IL.

Dean was employed by Operating Engineers Local #965 of Springfield, IL for 25 years. Dean was a wonderful husband, father, brother and a good friend to many. He will be greatly missed.

Surviving are his wife Mildred “Aunt Mim” Seely, son: Michael Seely and wife Rene of Louisville, KY; grandchildren: Shane, Corley, Halley, Amber and Jose; seven great grandchildren; brother: Jerry L. Seely and wife Vera of Girard, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Pete Seely and his wife Margie and brother Jackie Seely.
