Dixie Cottrell Seely

Publication FERRON – Dixie Cottrell Seely, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, returned to her loving Heavenly Father Dec. 24, 2005, in the Emery Care and Rehabilitation Center in Ferron.

Dixie was born Sept 13, 1931 in Springville to Edward and Helen (Seager) Cottrell. She graduated from Provo High School, attended BYU for three years and then transferred to Florida Tech University, where she received her teaching degree. Dixie married Norman Richard Seely Aug. 29, 1953; which was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. They enjoyed 52 years of marriage together. Dixie had a strong testimony of Christ and the Gospel and had served diligently as Relief Society president and many other callings in the church. Dixie had a full life. She enjoyed teaching, gardening, and artistry; she traveled extensively; and she loved her children and family dearly.

Dixie is survived by her husband, Richard; children, Sheree Goldfarb of Clermont, FL, Lorraine Martin of Olathe, CO, Dave Seely of Orangeville; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Katy Witke, and Gay Cottrell, both of WA; a brother, Jake Milton of WY; and her stepfather, Lorin Milton of WY. Services will be held in the Green River LDS Chapel Thursday, Dec. 29th at 10 a.m. Friends are invited to call 30 minutes prior to services. Interment will be in the Price City Cemetery. The family wishes to express great gratitude to the staff of the Emery Care and Rehabilitation Center.
