Candi Kay Schmitter Seely

(1953 – 2014)

Seely, Candi Kay Schmitter 61, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 18, 2014. Candi was born October 23, 1953, in Irving, Texas, to Paul and Verda Mae Schmitter. Candi married her high-school sweetheart, Greg Seely, April 14, 1973. They were married over forty-one years-a testament to persevering love. Candi was the proud mother of three sons, and a devoted grandmother to three grandchildren. She loved her family deeply, enjoyed spending time with them, and prayed daily for each family member. Candi also was the president and owner of National Works Inc. She was quick to place others before herself. An active member of Oakwood Baptist Church and its women’s ministry, Candi enjoyed sharing Jesus and Scripture with everyone around her. She delighted in Jesus Christ and shared that love with her family and friends. The study of biblical texts and teaching her Bible class were highlights of her week. She was a devoted and fierce friend, and many women are blessed to call her a mentor and friend. Her interests included gardening, interior decorating, traveling and wine. Mrs. Seely is survived by her husband of forty-one years, Greg Seely; son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Roni Seely; son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Sara Seely; son and daughter-in-law, The Rev. Canon Scott and Miriam Seely; grandchildren, Parker, Kate, and Jonathan Seely; brother, Bob Schmitter and brother, Jim Schmitter. A memorial service will be held at Oakwood Baptist Church April 22, 2014. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hope Hospice, New Braunfels.
