Services celebrating the life of Bobby Ray Seely will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Donnelly’s Colonial Funeral Home in Irving, Texas. Officiating will be Rev. Steve White of Colonial Baptist Church, Dallas, Texas. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, Irving. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Tuesday at Donnelly’s Colonial Funeral Home. Bobby was born December 31, 1927 in Tona, Texas and entered into rest Saturday, December 25, 2010, at Grace Home in Shreveport, Louisiana.

He was raised in South Dallas graduating from Forest Ave. High School. Forty years of his life was spent in Irving before moving to Shreveport in 2006. Bobby worked for Kroger for 43 years. He worked in many positions, completing his career in 1989 in Grocery Merchandising. Bobby spent 8 years in the U.S. Naval Reserve, receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1956. He was a member of the A.G. Garrett Masonic Lodge.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Clay Seely, Sr. and Rossie Lue Fincher Seely, two brothers, Henry Clay Seely, Jr. and C.B. Seely. Left to cherish beautiful memories are his wife of 41 years, Betty Seely; a daughter, Amelia Heil and husband Bob Heil of Dewey, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Lori Parrish of Cedar Hill, Texas and Michelle Dingman of Bartlesvilles, Oklahoma; four great grandchildren, Kylie Dingman, Jessa Milner, Ashton Gacsal and Drake Gacsal of Oklahoma. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins living in Louisiana and Texas: Bill and Nancy Young, Bill and Martha Ruby, Howard and Beverly Seely, Chris and Tamara Seely, Jeremy and Brooke Seely, Lola Seely, Loran and Donna Seely, Sterling Seely, Alan Hardy, and Don and Noelene Hardy. Bobby Seely was special to many people who knew him.

The following words express how he lived his life: “I expect to pass through this world but once; any good thing therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow-creature, let me do it now; let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.” Grellet
