Billy George Seely, 61, of Justin passed away Thursday, July 25, 2013. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton. Visitation: 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Billy was born on Nov. 16, 1951, in Fort Worth to George Truman Seely and Carolyn Cole Seely. He loved American history, especially the study of Texas.

Billy was initiated into the Masonic Lodge in May 1992, was passed in September 1992, and was raised in October 1992. He was elected to serve as master of the Lodge from June 24, 1996, to June 23, 1997. He was an endowed member of the Justin Lodge since July 2005 and a member of Stockshow Lodge in Fort Worth.

In the late 1960s, he worked as a high-ranking member of the Drug Intervention Team Hotline. He also worked for Lockheed Martin, at Odgen Allied as a fueler, and at American Airlines as a mechanic. He was a member of the Transport Workers Union and a political organizer at American Airlines, was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters at Lockhead Martin, and was a member of IAM.

He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors: Billy is survived by his mother, Carolyn Seely; and brothers, Richard Seely and Justin Seely.
