Barbara M. (Smykowski) Seely, 67
PORTLAND — Barbara M. Seely, 67, of Buxton Passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006, at Maine Medical Center.
She was born on May 23, 1939, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Walter and Estelle Smykowski.
Barbara worked for Steele Drug Store during the 70s, and retired from the Cumberland County Sheriffs Dept. in 2004.
She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Barbara looked forward to her trips back home to Illinois to visit her family and friends.
Barbara was predeceased by her son, James N. Seely III, and her parents. She is survived by her son, Michael Seely and his wife Cheryl of South Portland; daughters, Theresa McAloon and her husband James of Portland, Kimberly Seely of Cumberland, Cheryl Meyer and her husband Chris of Buxton; grandchildren, Jason Hafner of Auburn, Ashley and Alisha Seely of South Portland, Katelyn and Kelsey McAloon of Portland, Seamus and Keegan Meyer of Buxton; brother, Robert Smykowski and his wife Peggy of Lombard, Ill.; sister, Carol Lukowski and her husband Roy of Illinois; and several nieces, and nephews.
Per Barbara’s request there will be a private family graveside service. Arrangements are under the care of Funeral Alternatives, LLC 500 Route One, Yarmouth.
Barbara’s family would like to give special thanks to all the doctors and staff at Maine Medical Center’s Intensive Care Unit for the care received during her stay.
