Andrea Louise (Hansen) Seely, 51, of West Jordan, UT, died at home on Friday, March 24, 2017. Born  November 6, 1965 in Salt Lake City, UT to Forest Andresen Hansen and Karen Anderson Hansen, Andrea grew up in Salt Lake, where she became interested in drama during junior high. This interest continued after a move to Rupert, ID in 1982. After her graduation from Minico High School. Andrea attended Ricks College for three years where she obtained degrees in both Horticulture and General Studies. Andrea was “Woman of the Year” for the Horticulture department, and spoke at that department’s convocation when she graduated.

After her graduation from Ricks, Andrea was called as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Italy Milano Mission, where she served from 1987-1989. Following her mission, Andrea attended BYU Provo where she added another Horticulture degree and served as president of the university’s horticulture club.

In 1995 she married Nathan Louis Seely in the Jordan River Temple. Together they raised three children: Rebecca (Becky), James and Robert (Robby). Andrea’s earlier interest in drama was revived during a Stake production of “The Music Man” where she reprised the role of Aunt Paroo which she had played in high school-this time with her own son (James) portraying her stage son, Winthrop. For the past several years, Andrea and her children have enjoyed being involved in the West Hills Middle School after-school drama program. Andrea was the Costume Consultant for: Aladdin (2013), Mulan (2014), and The Pirates of Penzance (2016).

Over the years, Andrea served on the Temple Committee, in the Relief Society Presidency, and as the Ward Music Chairperson; she also sang in the ward choir, taught Sunday School, and served as the Gardening merit badge counselor for the Boy Scouts.

In addition to Nathan and her children, Andrea is survived by her mother Karen Hansen, her sister Kari (Earl) Marshall, and her brothers Dave (Mara) and Christoffer (Char) Hansen and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to all the friends, neighbors and ward members for their time, their love, their generosity, their service, their support and their prayers in behalf of Andrea and her family during her illness.
