Seelye – Bishop Wedding Solemnized in Elliott Church

Miss Mary Elizabeth Bishop, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.C. Bishop, and William Jackson Seelye, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Seelye, were united in marriage Friday evening, April 12th in the Elliott Baptist church at 8:00 o’clock.

Rev. Joe Love officiated in the ceremony as the couple stood before an arrangement of floor baskets filled with gladioli in pastel colors flanked by cathedral candles in graduated standards. Ed Berryhill lighted the candles.

The bride wore a dress of navy crepe for which she chose white accessories and a corsage of white carnations. Her only attendant, Mrs. Russell Squires, sister of the groom, who was matron of honor, was in beige and wore white carnations. The bride’s mother chose a suit of royal blue for the wedding and corsage of pink carnations. The groom’s mother wore a lavender dress with blending corsage of carnations.

Russell Squires served the bridegroom as best man.

The couple left Hearne for Corsicana expecting to go from there to Forth Worth to make their home.
