Young Hendersons to Motor to St. Louis
A reception in the garden and dancing on the tennis courts followed the 8 o’clock wedding of Sherrill Helene Seeley and William Colin Henderson last night. It was a La Canada Presbyterian Church ceremony performed by the Rev. Dewitt Joseph Brady of Oneonia Congregational Church before 350 guests. The reception was given at the home of the bride’s parents, the Julius Fehsee Seeleys, 5153 Earl Dr., La Canada. Present were the bridegroom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Colin David Henderson of Baltimore.
The Younger Hendersons, honeymooning briefly in Southern California will motor via Bryce, Zion and Colorado Springs to St. Louis where the groom will be a senior at Washington University. Both have attended Principla at Elsah, Ill., where Mrs. Henderson was graduated. Her husband, who spent 2 years in the Army, plays rugby and football for the University.
White lace over aqua was chosen for the bride’s attendants, Miss Vicky Lou Seeley, her sister’s maid of honor; Mrs. Lester Djmit, Misses Joan Jahnke and Mary Deforest, bridesmaids; and another sister, Charlene Seeley, junior bridesmaid. They wore small matching hats and carried sprays of peach colored roses.
The bride wore taffeta and French imported lace made with bouffant skirt and chapel train. A tulle crown, pear trimmed, held her triple-tiered veil and she carried white roses, stephanotis and lilies of the valley.
Her bridegroom’s best man was his brother John David Henderson of St. Louis, and his ushers, the bride’s brother, James Seeley, Thad Jarrett of Del Rio, Texas; David McCrea of Camarillo and Thomas Treanor of Los Angeles.
