The home of Mr. and Mrs. J. Herbert Whelan, 46 Cliff, was the scene Saturday evening at 8:30 o’clock of a lovely late summer wedding, when their eldest daughter, Margaret Helen, was married to Harley R. Seeley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ruel Seeley of 43 South Union.  The home was adorned with palms, ferns and flowers, roses predominating.  A group of 15 relatives of the couple witnessed the ring ceremony, which was performed by the Rev. William S. Potter.  The bride was attractively gowned in white embroidered organdie and was attended by her sister, Miss Mary Louise Whelan, who was gowned in peach chiffon.  Each carried an arm bouquet of pink and American Beauty roses.  The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Murray Seeley.  The front parlor, where the ceremony took place, was transformed into a floral bower.  The bridegroom is a clerk in the F.H. Whelan grocery and the bride is secretary to E.J. Welsh, principal of Southwestern junior high school.  After the ceremony, a wedding collation was served in the dining room where the entire party was seated at a table beautified with pink roses.  The newlyweds left immediately for a weekend visit in Detroit and will return to spend the remainder of the summer at one of the nearly lakes.  They plan to establish their home in Battle Creek.
