A funeral service was held for Virgie Mae Turner, 85, at 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, at Arrow Heights Baptist Church, Broken Arrow, Okla. Interment was at Bixby Cemetery, Bixby, Okla., officiated by The Rev. Bob Green. Services by Bixby Funeral Service.

Virgie Mae Turner was born October 8, 1925 at Anadarko, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of George Seely and Carrie Jones Seely. Virgie passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Heartland Plaza of Broken Arrow in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was 85 years of age.

Virgie grew up in the Anadarko area and attended Anadarko Public Schools.

Virgie Seely and JC Turner were united in marriage on July 7, 1942 and at the time of his death, they had celebrated 64 years of marriage. During that time they resided in Anadarko until 1957 when they moved to the Bixby area.

Virgie was a devoted homemaker and loved taking care of her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Glenpool, Oklahoma. Virgie was in a Bunco group and enjoyed playing bingo at Heartland on Sunday nights.

Virgie was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and three sisters; her husband JC in December of 2006.
