Rosa Lea Vititow
October 9, 1926 – June 24, 2011
OKLAHOMA CITY

Rosa (“Nana”) was born October 9, 1926 to Walter Seeley and Mamie Tushkatombie in Pontotoc, OK. Rosa was full-blooded Chickasaw Indian and was raised in Mill Creek, OK, but enjoyed the majority of her life in OKC. Rosa worked in food service for OKCPS at various schools, last working at U.S. Grant High School. Rosa was the emotional and spiritual leader of her family. She was a great listener who would entertain anyone’s problems. She was also quite a jokester and loved to play “Shoot the Moon” with her family during reunions in Sulphur, OK. She was very active in raising her 4 grandchildren — instilling in them her love of God and a never-ending work ethic. We will always miss coming home to find Rosa and Sammy sitting under a shade tree in their front yard — where they loved to be. Rosa was preceded in death by her husband, Sammy Dee Vititow, on May 24, 2011. She leaves behind her brother, Wiley Seeley of Dallas, TX; daughter, Jan Moody and husband Mark; son, Dewayne Vititow and wife Kathy; grandson, Christopher Moody and wife Amanda; granddaughter, Ashley Moody; grandson, Dustin Vititow; granddaughter, Brittany Vititow; all of Oklahoma City, OK. Services will be held at John Ireland Funeral Home Chapel in Moore, OK on Wednesday, June 29, at 2pm.
