Marion L. Seeley Tice, age 75 of Raleigh died January 11, 2015 at Rex Hospital surrounded by family and close friends. She was born to Reeves and Florence Seeley on May 21, 1939 in Middletown NY. She married William E. Baxter Tice, Jr, on August 13, 1958 at Myrtle Beach Air Force Base in SC. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years. She is survived by daughters: Deborah Ann Meares and husband Aaron, Patricia Lynn Tice, and Mary Tice Ibarra and husband Manuel. Grandchildren: Niki and Patrick Simons, Arabela Selena Ibarra, William Reeves Joaquin Ibarra, and Sarah “Makenna” Tice. Great-grandchildren: Hanna Page Simons, Tyler-Scott Baxter Simons, Austin Nathan Simons and Delaney Ann Britt Simons. Sister: Florence Ann Seeley Allen and husband Gail Gibbs Allen. Extended family in Middletown, NY and surrounding areas include lots of cousins, nieces and nephews. She followed her husband to Stewart AFB, NY, Yokota AFB, Japan and Seymour Johnson AFB in Goldsboro, NC. When he retired they moved to Raleigh where they lived out the rest of their lives. She worked at WakeMed helping create the junior volunteer program and running for several years, as well as being a full-time mom and housewife she started a support group for those suffering with Peripheral Neuropathy, including herself.
Visitation will be at Montlawn Funeral Home on January 16, 2015 from 12 – 2 pm. The funeral will be held at Montlawn Funeral Home in Raleigh at 2 pm with a graveside service to follow.
