Lois Seeley Thorpe

SPARTANBURG, SC— Lois Seeley Thorpe, 90, of Spartanburg, died Friday, October 2, 2009, at RoseCrest Nursing Home. Born May 11, 1919, in Waterbury, CT, she was the wife of the late Richard Allyn Thorpe, Sr. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg, the Garden Club of Spartanburg, and the original group who delivered meals for Mobile Meals. She taught sewing skills to the underprivileged and was an avid bird watcher.

Survivors include a daughter, Wendy Thorpe Halford of Spartanburg; a son, Richard Allyn Thorpe, Jr. of Boiling Springs; a son-in-law, James Halford; a daughter-in-law, Susan Thorpe of Gaithersburg, MD; two granddaughters, Kellie Michelle Halford of Flowery Branch, GA, and Julie Thorpe of Virginia; a great-granddaughter, Alyssa Autumn Halford of Flowery Branch, GA.

Cryptside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2009, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum conducted by the Rev. Craig Foster.
