Mrs. Katherine S. (Seeley) Thompson

GENEVA – Katherine S. Thompson, 87, passed away peacefully on Good Friday (April 2, 2010) at her home in Geneva.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday (April 7) at Gorham Cemetery (enter from Co. Rd. # 18).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Presbyterian Church in Geneva, 24 Park Place, Geneva, 14456.

Mrs. Thompson was the daughter of the late Albert and C. Anna McMillan Seeley. She was a graduate of Waterloo High School and the Freeman Business School. She was employed with Traveler’s Insurance for eight years.

Mrs. Thompson was a member of The Presbyterian Church in Geneva and of its Ganada Group, and was past-Chairman of the United Presbyterian Women. She was formerly active in the Girl Scouts and the Geneva City Schools P.T.A. She was a former member of the Geneva O.E.S., and past-Matron of the Order of the Amaranth.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathleen Abbott; son-in-law, Steven Cleveland; three grandchildren, Beth Cleveland-Walker, Carrie Cleveland and April Abbott; three great-grandsons, Ronin, Tyler and Jaden; one sister, Wanda T. Grant; three nieces; one nephew; and several cousins; and her godchild, Karen (Brian) Mangan.

Mrs. Thompson was predeceased by her husband, Robert B. Thompson, in 1995; her daughter, Barbara Cleveland in March of 2010; and her sister, Dorothy Word.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham.
