ALICE M. TENNIHILL

MASON CITY – Alice M. Tennihill, 87, of Mason City, died Monday (Jan. 22, 2001) at the Good Shepherd Health Care Center in Mason City.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Hogan Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., with the Rev. John Stonecypher of the Worldwide Church of God officiating. According to her wishes, Mrs. Tennihill’s body has been cremated.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Peniel Cemetery in Joy, Ill.

Memorials may be directed to the Alice Tennihill Memorial Fund.

Alice was born March 22, 1913, in Hitchcock, S.D., the daughter of Sheldon Leroy and Adah Belle (Kruse) Seeley. She graduated from Plymouth High School in 1930 and was united in marriage to Alvin Tennihill in South Bend, Ind., on Nov. 4, 1936.

She moved to Des Moines and then Davenport, where she worked at Mercy Hospital in central supply at a sterilizing processor. She then moved to Milan, Ill., and later to Mason City.

Alice enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, attending church activities and trivia. She was a long-time member of the Worldwide Church of God.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Marjory Danielson and her husband, Marlin, of Davenport; her sister, Nellie Lunde, of Mason City; her brother, George Seeley and his wife, Mert, of Plymouth; three grandchildren, Douglas McKinley of Bloomington, Ill., Randy McKinley and his wife, Diane, of Walcott, Iowa, and Kevin McKinley, of Bowling Brook, Ill.; and three great-grandchildren, Amber, Amy and Ryan.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1963 and her brother, Donald Seeley.
