LaVon Gull

March 17, 1916 – April 8, 2011,

LaVon Gull, age 95, passed away April 8, 2011, after a long and productive life filled with opportunity, challenge, love and service. She was a woman without guile; a smiling face, a welcome loving nature, a clear mind, artistic gifts, phenomenal memory and a pure heart.

LaVon exhibited Christ like qualities; she perceived the integrity of others, trusted and loved family, with a special fondness for her many nephews and nieces, friends, neighbors and her brothers and sisters of the restored church. She wore and bore her testimony of her love of God, and her Savior Jesus Christ. She lived her religion and expressed in word and deed her desire to live righteously for the blessings of eternal companionship, eternal life and exaltation.

LaVon Gull

She was born on March 17, 1916 and raised in Mt. Pleasant, Utah; the daughter of Jens Christen Christensen and Eva Rebecca Seely Christensen. She graduated with honors from North Sanpete High School in 1934. She was active in chorus, school plays, and the commercial team.

She married Vaughn Glen Gull on Oct. 5, 1936. They lived together for many years mostly in Fairview, Sanpete County and in Carbon County, in Rains and Helper until Von’s death on Nov. 26, 1981. LaVon remained in Helper for many years, until her relatively recent move to the Heirloom Inn, in Price.

LaVon and Vaughn traveled the state, stopping often to oil paint, portraying the beauties of nature. Her talents were many, and her smile and loving kindness will forever be remembered.

She loved animals, especially cats; nice clothing, the color pink, and good cars.

She had a special fondness for roses and loved working in her flower garden. LaVon was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was also an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and had a special love for service in the Relief Society.

A special thanks to her many true friends, staff members at the Heirloom Inn, and extended family members who gave their all, in her behalf, in her declining years.

Survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her eternal companion, Vaughn Gull, her parents, and brothers and sisters, Inez, Jens Seely, Ferrel, Theodore, Harold, Alvin, Rosella, John, and Myrtle.(LaVon was second to youngest in her family.)
