Florence Ann Allen

February 9, 1933 – December 22, 2017

Florence “Ann” Allen, of King George, VA, a longtime resident of Middletown NY, and a life-long member of North Congregational Church of Middletown, joined her husband of 64 years in eternal rest on December 22nd, 2017, surrounded by loved ones at Mary Washington Hospital, Fredericksburg, VA.

Born the daughter of Reeves Seeley and Florence Ann Wells Seeley on February 9th, 1933, Ann was a graduate of Middletown High School, where she met the love of her life, Gail G Allen. Along with Gail, Ann was passionate about helping others through their service in Amaranth, having served as Royal Matron of the Laurel Court, Order of Amaranth, Port Jervis, NY.

Ann was a member of the Richmond Court #1, Order of the Amaranth, Richmond, VA, Mystic Court # 62, of Highland Mills, NY, and the Order Eastern Star, Queen Esther Chapter # 163 in Middletown.

Ann is survived by her children, J. Robert Allen and wife Brenda of Chesapeake, VA; O. Frank Allen and wife Mary of Youngsville, NC; G. Douglas Allen and wife Amy of Middletown, NY; Dawn Allen Conklin of Middletown, NY; Valerie Allen Long and husband Kevin, of King George, VA, and Tami Allen Hasbrouck and husband John, of Orlando, FL.

Ann was blessed with 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, and many, many nieces and nephews, all of whom she cherished; she was predeceased by her husband of 64 years Gail Allen, daughter Judy A Allen, her sister Marion Tice, of Raleigh, NC, and brothers Richard, Don, Reeves and Warren Seeley, all of Middletown, NY.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 11AM – 1 PM Friday, Dec. 29, 2017 at the Cornelius Dodd and Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY. Funeral services will begin at 1 PM with Eastern Star and Amaranth services followed by the Reverend Steve Ruelke and Reverend Daniel Hulseapple officiating. Interment will be in the Allen Family plot in the Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery, Bloomingburg, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Ann’s name to the Amaranth Diabetes Foundation, c/o Sally Acuff, 1217 Burning Wood Way, Madison, WI, 53704
