Clair Hendrickson – Sandy, Utah

Clair Leslie Hendrickson, age 67, passed away suddenly Monday, December 7, 2009, in Sandy, Utah at his home. Born September 21, 1942, in Richfield, Utah, the son of Leslie Chris and Elaine Bennett Hendrickson. Clair was a graduate of Richfield High School and Utah State University with a BS in Civil Engineering. He worked for the Federal Highway Administration from 1967 until he retired in 2002. Clair married Mary Francine Bateman in the Salt Lake Temple on June 8, 1967. They enjoyed over 40 years together and were able to live in several locations throughout the United States, which included 20 years in West Virginia. He lovingly cared for Francine for many years while she suffered from multiple sclerosis.

An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Clair served in the Swiss Mission. He was very involved in genealogy and family history. Clair served on the board of the Seeley Foundation and enjoyed doing extraction work for the Family History Center. Clair is survived by his mother, Elaine Bennett Hendrickson of Richfield, Utah; daughters, Rebecca (Gregory) Ball of Grand Blanc, Michigan; and Heidi (Joe) Christensen of Sandy, Utah; grandchildren, Ryan, Zachary, and Katherine Ball; sister, Janice (Gary) Jensen and brother, Richard (Jerrie) Hendrickson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Francine Hendrickson; father, Leslie Hendrickson and grandson, Joseph Marler. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Union 5th Ward, 7784 S. 2000 E. Friends may call at the ward chapel on Saturday morning after 9:00 a.m. Burial will in the Richfield City Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
