November 11, 1928 – December 23, 2018
Alice Marion Hileman 90 of Harrison passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland. She was born Nov. 11, 1928 in Lakefield Township, Saginaw County, MI the daughter of Richard Grover Seeley and Anna (Simkims) Seeley.
A long-time member of the Seeley Genealogical Society, Marion helped organize the 2013 SGS Reunion in Grand Rapids, MI.
“She has been an active member of SGS and attended reunions since I have been around,” said SGS President Lynda Simmons. “She was a happy and dedicated person!”
Marion graduated from Harrison High School in 1946. She was united in marriage to Mr. William “Bill”
Somers Hileman on Oct. 9, 1947 in Harrison.
Marion had resided in Harrison since 1943, moving from St. Charles, MI. She was a devout member of the Harrison Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for many years. Marion gave thirty-five years of service to Harrison Community Schools as an administrative secretary to the offices of high school principal and superintendent of schools.
Marion enjoyed traveling, attending her children’s, grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s school functions and sporting events. For many years, the family spent summer vacations at St. Martin’s Point in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula with the Gassman family. Marion’s greatest passion was making memories with her family during holidays or any family event. She never turned down an opportunity to shop, especially if it involved clothes, bells, dolls or dishes.
Surviving Marion are four loving children, daughters Peggy R. Bray and husband, Terry, of Laingsburg, MI, and Sue A. Craven and husband, Rick, of Harrison, sons; William L. “Bill” Hileman and wife, Sherry, of Harrison, and R. Kelly Hileman and wife, Robin, of Freeland, MI, nineteen grandchildren, forty-seven great-grandchildren, ten great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Marion was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of fifty-nine years, William “Bill” Hileman, her sisters Clarissa Cowie, Grace Wells, and Lillian DeJohn, her brother, Melvin Seeley, a sister-in-law and three brothers-in-law.
Funeral services celebrating Mrs. Hileman were Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, at Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, with family officiating. Visitation was Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018, at Stocking Funeral Home. Marion’s final resting is at Maple Grove Cemetery, Harrison.
